The food paintings focus on drawing and painting from observation (a photograph), and how shading can create the illusion of form. Students practice mixing colors and tints of tempera paint to create shadows and highlights. The Microsoft Word drawings are a final project after learning and sketching figure proportions. Students sketch a peer posing for them doing their favorite activity, and create a final drawing of that action using drawing tools in Microsoft Word.
